New high tech company UCP
Processing Ltd. founded
Balzers, October 16, 2003 - On October 8, a new high tech company has
been founded in the economic space of the Rhine Valley. The Balzers located UCP
Processing Ltd. is the result of a successful management buyout by local investors
as well as the management and staff of the former Ultra Clean business unit of
INFICON. The newly created company has taken over 10 INFICON employees and is
operating at the same location as before, which yields synergies for both
companies. INFICON will lease part of its premises and offer a number of
services to UCP Processing Ltd.
"We strive to rapidly establish our new brand and to smoothly continue
the excellent relationship with the customers of the former Ultra Clean
Processing business in Asia, Europe and North America" said Albert Züger,
the founder and managing director of UCP Processing Ltd.
The innovative products of UCP Processing Ltd. are focused on the fast growing
market segment of Advanced Assembly and Packaging where chips for portable
microelectronics and telecommunication equipment are wired and molded. Plasma
cleaning is an environment-friendly, damage-free method of removing residual
contaminants from the critical and sensitive surfaces before packaging. UCP
plasma cleaning systems significantly increase the yield of the chip packaging
process and enhance the reliability of electronic components.
